I've been numb with frustration the past few days. Late last week, I called for an update on my deployment's end date. To my disbelief, my extension has been extended. My replacement isn't even suppose to be in country until 23 April! The new "date" is 28 April.
I have never felt so abandoned in my life. I am really disappointed I won’t make it home for my brother’s graduation, my sister’s visit to MI, or wedding planning with Casie. (That’s right, I actually wish I could plan a wedding.)
At this point, since I thought I would be home by now, each day is longer than the previous one. Please email or leave a comment to help me keep my sanity.

That sucks, dude. I'm sorry. We will have to take you out and buy you many beers when you get home.
BEE-yun! That stinks! I miss you!
Ben,
I feel for you. I know that you have to be more than just disappointed because we are too. I kept telling Casie that maybe you'd be home for Easter. She had her doubts and I guess living the Air Force life makes her far wiser than I. I am ready to swear. Those Bastards!
Hey Ben,
The negative side is: that is typical of the Military, right? It's a shitty deal!
The positive side is: Your job is so important. You are good at what you do. You are irreplaceable. One likes to think these things :-)
Ben! I'm so sorry to hear about the extension to the extension. We are all still pulling for you here in the office. Everyone is still thinking about you and saying prayers for you! Don't lose your sanity (if there's any left.) I read your blog everyday and enjoy hearing from you! Please keep blogging and KEEP YOUR CHIN UP! Thank you for everything you are doing over there, so that we can have our freedom back here.
Hi Ben,
Obviously you are doing an exceptional job for our country. Keep up the good work. And keep your spirits up. April 28th will be here before you know it. P.S. What did the medic say about your ankle?
Love Dad & Ma
Whoa, both of my parents swore on your blog. They must be outraged! I am, but you won't see me swearing! I was raised correctly...wait, how does that figure? ;)
Don't get sad now, I can't send you cheese! ;) Just think of positive thoughts like....when you get back I'll be on summer break again! And guess who's looking for a job! It'll be like I never left! ;)
Just kidding
or am I?
;)
hey Ben, I am sorry to hear the news. I am super bummed too, I was SO looking forward to seeing you in May but its ok. When you are home I will make the trip...you will get home and I can't wait!
BEN! NO! I was so hoping to see you in May when Jenny comes home...:( We all miss you and i just want the best for you and your safety...thinking and praying for you...
Well I'm not surprise by the extension. I am shocked by the comments from my parents though. I seem to remember "sucks" being a bad word when I was growing up. What's up with that?
You'll be home soon enough...only 3 weeks. Then you can start making me buy disgusting things like avocados and onions again.
I will not use the word shitty on Ben's blog again.
