I Want My MTV!

I'm having new music withdrawal. I want my MTV (when it use to play videos)! I loaded all 40Gb of my photo iPod before I left, but I am starting to feel dated. I've always prided myself on my musical knowledge of all the current hits. <flashback: Default...Live a Lie. Casie and Beck know what I am talking about.>

With Casie as my personal Best Buy shopper, I have still been purchasing new music, but it is waiting for me at home. I have made a few music purchases over here, like Jet - Shine On, The Killers - Sam's Town, and Rocky Balboa: Best of the Rocky Series to curb some of my musical appetite.

What should my 'Operation Iraqi Freedom Soundtrack' be? Leave me a comment about three newer tunes you're loving right now. My health depends on it.

Some of these aren't too new, but new to me:
Augustana - Boston
My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade
Jet - Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

I would agree with Boston by Augustana. Becket and I heard it about a month ago.
Anything by Damien Rice - newest CD with "9 Crimes" is superb. Jess wouldn't let me copy it from her :-(

Hey Ben I was shopping the other day and I realized I didn't know if you liked your KIT KAT with milk chocolate or white chocolate.

Haha...DO NOT bring up Kit Kats. (the Kit Kat debate from the UMD trip Ben?)

Pretty much zero readers will get that but everyone who was there will never forget it (or the 3 hour conversation).

Anyway, 3 tunes I currently love...
London Bridge-Fergie (pretty much anything by her right now...ask anyone in Dayton)
My Love-Justin Timberlake
Smack That-Akon (f. Eminem)

Oh wait, you wanted me to be serious. (Sorry to anyone who actually likes those tunes. Don't worry, you're obviously not alone since they are played so much.)

I'm going to cop out with artists since I can't pick 3 SONGS...it's hard enough to go with just 3 artists.

Current favorites...
The Decemberists
Paolo Nutini
Cold War Kids
Rogue Wave
Gomez
John Legend
and oddly enough, Yusuf

Oops...sorry, I can't pick 3 artists either.

"Punk rocker with Flowers in my hair" Sandy Thom I think.
I'm not good with song titles and artists but that one caught my attention
I agree with Bruce about Damien Rice and "9 crimes"
I got Fiona Apple for Christmas and I can't think of the name of the song and can't find the CD. Something about dumb stupid etc.

I can't say I any "songs" so much I'm in love with. I do have to agree, Augustana's Boston is pretty good and the new John Legend is basically amazing. But I'm in love with Ray LaMontagne right now. If you don't already have his stuf, most def. get it.

Oh, and my mom is thinking of Fiona's "Parting Gift", but that's not the album she got for Christmas.

ps. "oooooh eeeee Casie" (Deep House Dish), I actually like the JT song! ;)

Very true Beck...anything off MTV4's Deep House Dish should be added to your list. Haha!

If you want to understand this one start watching SNL folks. This is a recurring character that went from pretty funny to hilarious with introduction T'Shane played by Andy Samberg in early December.

Ben you should have a copy of that episode. It's the one with Matthew Fox.

1. I like Welcome to the Black Parade too. When Gerard belts out "carrrry ooooon" it reminds me of the hook from Helena.
2. Fall Out Boy - This Ain't a Scene, it's an Arms Race
3. Last but not least, the dick in a box video with Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake. It never gets old.
